The state's open-door policy on employment of people convicted of crimes worked out for Vincent A. Marini, who stole taxpayers' funds during his 15-year career as an administrator for the town of Colonie.
The University at Albany hired Marini in February, and his duties are similar to those he had at Colonie. He's paid $71,200 annually as a senior staffer, according to payroll records obtained by the Times Union. Marini serves as UAlbany's director of administrative services for the office of facilities management, where he's responsible for personnel services and budget management.
