Vic: Motorcyclist dies after colliding with a car

MELBOURNE, Feb 14 AAP - A motorcyclist has died after an accident on the Great Ocean
Road at Lavers Hill in Victoria's south-west tonight.

Police said the motorcycle collided with a car travelling in the opposite direction
about 6.40pm (AEDT).

The male motorcyclist, aged in his 50s, was airlifted from the scene but died later.

Earlier tonight, a woman died after being hit by a bus at Parkville in Melbourne's north.

Police said the accident happened about 6.10pm (AEDT).

It's understood the woman, who is yet to be identified, was killed instantly when she
stepped onto Flemington Road into the side of the city-bound bus.

The bus driver and male passenger on board the bus were not injured.

The two deaths take Victoria's road toll to 42, the same as at this time last year.
